Dr. Tom Zirpoli, Professor at McDaniel College who holds the Laurence J. Adams Endowed Chair and serves as the President & CEO of Target Community & Educational Services, Inc. (Target), presented the Laurence J. Adams Community Service Award to Fairhaven, a continuing care retirement community, at the 2013 Spring Gala on March 2nd. This award is presented annually to an individual or company that has made a significant difference, not only for Target, but also for our greater community.
Robin Somers, Executive Director of Fairhaven, serves on Target’s Board of Directors and the Quality Assurance Committee, and Fairhaven provides generous support. Zirpoli stated, “It is apparent that Fairhaven is graced by the talents, passion and commitment of its people. Fairhaven demonstrates its belief that it can fulfill its mission and best represent its guiding principles through its partnerships with other community organizations. We are grateful for Fairhaven’s and Robin's invaluable support.” |

Employees Honored for Years of Service
Dr. Tom Zirpoli, Professor at McDaniel College who holds the Laurence J. Adams Endowed Chair and serves as the President & CEO of Target Community & Educational Services, Inc. (Target), presented The Donald Rabush Award to employees recognized for milestone years of service at the 2013 Spring Gala on March 2nd. “It is only through the work of Target’s dedicated employees that we are able to maintain a high level of quality services that enable our clients with intellectual and other disabilities to be active and productive members of our community and to live as independently as possible,” stated Zirpoli.
Jonathan Joseph and Lonyta McClain were honored for 20 years of dedicated service. Carolyn Wilson was recognized for 15 years of service. Jacqueline Aguglia, Tammy Brewer-Lokko, Julie Develin, Andrea Engle, Charles Martin and Maya Stiltz were acknowledged for ten years of committed service. Recipients awarded for five years of service included Fern Ambush, Emmanuel Ansah, Jennifer Bell, Laura Bewley, Melissa Davis, Rachel Demby, Aminata Diallo, Deborah Gray, Mary Hamelink, Guy Mamboundy, Notashia McKenzie, Edward Ninda, Siah-Vivian Rennie, Shelby Robertson, Sandy Sipes, Colby Szekalski, Lidia Vasquez, Robin Waugh and Jessica White. |

The Joan Develin Coley Award is given to 2nd year Community Living Managers who are completing the McDaniel College and Target Community & Educational Services, Inc. Masters Degree program in Human Services Management in May, 2013.

The Spring Gala is an elegant, black tie optional, evening affair that includes hors d’oeuvres, open bar, dinner, a live band, dancing, and an exciting silent auction. This is Target Community & Educational Services premier annual fundraiser, held the first Saturday each March at Martin’s West in Baltimore, Maryland.
Sponsorships are available and deeply appreciated. Each sponsorship includes admission for a table of ten guests. All Spring Gala Sponsors are recognized on the event program, during the event and on our website.

Please note that we are seeking items for our silent auction. Silent auction items range from gift baskets, activities, vacation getaways, new and like-new items, sports tickets, and gift certificates. Target Community & Educational Services, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donated items may be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. |
